Sag Harbor Kitchen (Floor Plan Design)The client came to me because they couldn’t figure out the best way to layout this kitchen in a renovation.
The challenges are that the natural light and the views are in the part of the room with no available wall space for a range or refrigerator. The room is long, and we needed to protect the traffic flow from the living room into the dining room.
The achieve this we split the length into two zones, 1) a main prep area up front and 2) a pantry and coffee bar in the back, which keeps the work triangle tight, gets the smoothie-makers out of the chef's way, and leaves the path from the living room to dining room completely clear.
